SNOW-POCOLYPSE 2010!!!

Wow, what can I say about 4 days off school, sheets of ice paralyzing the roads, and 6 more inches of snow on top of all that ice!!!! Today we realized we weren't immune to frozen pipes either! Ugh. This is crazy! After being cooped up in the house for 4 days, we decided to bear the cold and go sledding behind the house.
Back porch and backyard view.

I like this picture because if you look closely in the trees (in the lower right quadrant) you'll see a beautiful cardinal sitting in the trees by the creek behind our house.

Here's our front yard/ driveway. You really can't see the curb or the driveway!!! So much snow!

Here are my feet on the edge of our porch. You can barely see that there's a step near my toes.
Tough-guy checking the mail!

Hey Mommy! Harley's playing in the snow too!!!

I'm gonna get you!!!

Now I'm cold - so I'll just stand still!!!

Kent's Field Goal from NFL Experience!

Cory took this video on her iphone and emailed it to me. I'm hoping this comes through okay. It's very short! But we are very proud of Kent for his Field Goal!!!

Frisco Ice Blast!

It's hard to believe that we are going to have 3 days off school this week due to the ice that is covering the streets!!! Crazy! So we have been cooped up in the house for 2 days and now have "Cabin Fever"! Here are some pics from today!

Ice doesn't look too bad from our backyard.

Jason was VERY proud of the STAR he made with his cars!
Way to go!

Jason has been cracking me up all day...putting on MY rain boots (on the wrong feet of course)! He also was pretending the railing for the stairs was a snake and told me "Shhhhhh a snake Mommy!" So we tip-toed and hid from the snake for a while! Whatever it takes to get through the day! :-)

Bounce Bounce Bounce

This past weekend the weather was gorgeous so we got out our bounce house and Jason had a blast! I'm glad it fit in the backyard! (We were a little nervous about that.) - Thanks to Kelly for the handed down bounce house!

The NFL Experience

Last Sunday we went to the NFL Experience with the Cummings. There were tons of people there so it was hard to really get the "experience". But Kent and Seth were able to demonstrate their throwing and kicking talent after standing in very long lines, while Cory and I enjoyed chasing the 2 year olds! :-)

Kent made the field goal!!! Way to go!

Christmas in Greensboro!

Christmas was in Greensboro, North Carolina this year!!!

We were very excited to celebrate Christmas with Kent's family, however, traveling on an airplane with a 2 year old was a little less than exciting. So, being the savvy mom that I am, I thought I would be armed with all sorts of tricks up my sleeve to keep Captain Chaos under control on the airplane. We had our DVD player, several movies, books, coloring books, snacks, etc.! This was going to be a breeze..... In fact, there wasn't a thing I had forgotten until .... we were in the car on the way to the airport.
First, I realized I didn't pack the usual stuffed animals that Jason sleeps with.... Oh well, we'll get by. Then as we got closer to the airport I realized I didn't pack a winter coat for Jason(even when the forecast was for snow)...Ugh! This isn't good...Oh well again, we'll just buy one when we get there. Everything is going pretty smoothly at the airport. We can't wait to get on the airplane and get settled - let's just get it over with. We finally get Jason's car seat on the plane, get settled in our seats and pull out the DVD player! I can feel a sigh of relief coming....( a moment to relax while Jason watches a movie )! OH @#$%~! I forgot to turn off the DVD player after I charged it last night! UGH! No movie and no resting! All you can do at this point is laugh!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Actually Jason ended up doing great on the plane. Luckily I had the Cars book and we kept reading that over and over again.

Once we got to the Smir house no time was wasted! There was Fun to be had by all...especially the boys!

Alec, Jason and Lauren (aka Nunu)

Some good rough-housing in the backyard! Poor Alec!

A bonding moment while watching The Polar Express on Christmas Eve.
Uncle Bassam finally got his hug!
Again, poor Alec! Jason showed no mercy!
Early on Christmas morning we all couldn't wait to see what Santa brought everyone!
Santa was very good to Jason this year!
Merry Christmas!

Jason couldn't wait to "Rock Out" with his new helmet and his electric guitar!

On Christmas day is started to snow! It was beautiful.
Aunt Kim gave all the "big-kids"paint guns for a shoot out. Too bad the paint balls were frozen! Ouch!

Jason had Aunt Kim convinced another late night was no big deal.
More Rough-housing!
The snow kept falling!...And so did that tree in the backyard!

Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Kim, Uncle Bassam, Lauren, and Alec for such a fun visit!!!
